SPSS not opening on Mac after macOS 26.1 update

Dear Apple Support Team,

I am writing to ask for your urgent assistance. Recently, I updated my Mac to macOS 26.1, and after this update, I can no longer open the SPSS program that I use for my university studies. SPSS support informed me that the software does not work on macOS 26.1 and only functions correctly on 26.0 or 26.2.

The problem is extremely serious for me because my important class files are saved inside SPSS, and I must present them tomorrow. If I cannot access these files, I may fail my course, which would have a major impact on my academic progress.

I kindly request your help to roll back my macOS from 26.1 to 26.0, or please provide any other solution that would allow me to open SPSS without losing my data. I am very stressed and worried because I cannot afford to lose these files or miss my academic deadline.

Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and any support you can offer. I would be truly grateful for your quick assistance.

Sincerely,

[Batjargal]

I think IBM support is telling you BS. If the application works on Tahoe 26.0 and the unreleased beta Tahoe 26.2, it most likely, though not guaranteed, works on 26.1. I would uninstall and reinstall the last non-beta version of SPSS known to work on 26.0 and see if that allows it to operate correctly on Tahoe 26.1. As a precaution, back up your SPSS data.

Even with a Time Machine backup containing 26.0 and 26.1, there would be no means to roll back to Tahoe 26.0 as one does not have operating system version granularity with Time Machine restore. Any new download of Tahoe will be the currently released version.
