I do NOT work for Apple, and writings you read here are suggestions, not contracts.

Stepping back from the exact wording in the legal agreement for a moment,

Try thinking about it this way:

Apple may sell you a Mac in the US, that you might carry to a remote area high up on mountain. or on a remote island nation, in some remote part of the world where they have no presence in that country.

They don't want to have to provide you with service there.

On the other hand, in a dense Metropolitan area in a country where Apple-owned stores exist, such as in Metropolitan London, UK, they are far more likely to be willing to provide service there.

In broad general terms, Apple wants you to be a happy customer, if possible.

That's not how I read the Apple blurb above at all. Nor is it what I understand to be the case. AFAIK, the Mac warranty does apply to different countries, although it is subject to local conditions/parts etc.

And that is one of the biggest problems with Apple's documentation......it is not always clear. Even people who work at Apple or for Apple (aka Apple Support) cannot always make sense of Apple's documentation. I had a specific issue recently where an Apple OEM Battery failed within one year (6 months) after replacement (the original Apple product warranty for the laptop had long expired), and at first they were going to cover it for free under a Battery warranty, then someone at Apple denied it because they said all parts/repairs only have a 90 day warranty. I contacted Apple & argued my case using their own article as proof, and they pushed back because we were interpreting the same Apple document in two different ways. In the end I was success in convincing the Apple agent of my interpretation....it was a very long dragged out chat, but many times you won't win.

@John Galt is correct, you need to go in believing there may be no service (warranty or not). However, you will likely be able to get a device repaired as long as the part(s) needed don't have regional variations & can be sourced locally. The Keyboard is one of the most obvious regionally restricted parts, but people don't realize since the Keyboard is an integrated part of the whole Palmrest Assembly that component sometimes includes the Battery, Speakers, and possibly some other small parts, that a Battery replacement may not be possible if the Battery is glued to the underside of the Palmrest. I believe from time to time there may even be regional variations of the Logic Board or other components.

When I read the snippet of the Apple article quoted by @John Galt, I see a lot of wiggle room for Apple. Read it again without your expectations of complete service worldwide. Read it from the other perspective and you may see portions of that quote don't allow a clear answer. Plus if Apple is able to provide parts from another region, you may be paying a lot more for that part in both price & time.

Attribution confusion? Or am I confuzed?

I'm sorry. I'm so used to @John Galt, that I will get mixed up when referencing another contributor & he was very active here. I'll make sure to double check from now on before hitting the Post button. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

@MrHoffman provided the quote snippet from the Apple article regarding product warranties & repairs.
