I changed my password to my iCloud because it was saying incorrect credentials when logging in on my Mac book even though they weren’t because I signed in on my iPhone to verify. After changing my password anyway I still can’t login to iCloud on my MacBook? What could be the issue?

Did you try to log out of your Apple ID preferences on your Mac, restart the Mac and sign in again with the new Apple ID password?
Which macOS is installed on your MacBook?
Any VPN or Firewall active, which is blocking the contact to Apple servers?
I have the same issue on my mac Mini today. "This Mac can’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with EMAIL" message - trying to enter the password - "Your identity couldn't be verified. Check your network connection and try again." message. I switched to different Internet connections without success.
I can login on icloud.com with this password (not in Safari), that means password is ok.
Yes I’ve done all of that. I even tried adding a new user and logging on no luck.
