How do I get a refund for an unintended subscription charge on my Apple Account?

I received an email in regards to my subscription ending and I cancelled, but it still charged my credit card? Do I need to reach out to Apple or my financial institution to get a refund?

You can start here:

Note that you need to have cancelled the subscription at least 24 hours before it renewed.

  • Where are you seeing the subscription is cancelled?
  • Do you see the charge in your Purchase history in the App Store of your device instead of the other link?

Since your post was retitled, it is not clear if the subscription is even being managed by Apple or Apple is the one billing you. For any subscription made with a company directly, it is not managed by Apple and you would need to cancel and request a refund with them. What is the exact description of the charge you see, that may also help to determine where it is coming from.
