Ringtone

This is the sound your iPhone plays for incoming phone calls. Think of it as your phone shouting, “Hey! Someone wants to talk to you!”

• It can be much longer (up to around 30–40 seconds when you set a custom one).
• It keeps playing in a loop until you answer or the call stops.
• Perfect for those dramatic Bollywood-length intros, if that’s your style.

Alerts

These are the sounds for everything other than calls — like messages, app notifications, emails, reminders, calendar events, and so on. These are your phone’s way of tapping you on the shoulder instead of yelling across the room.

• Very short, usually just a quick tone or chime (1–2 seconds).
• Alerts do not loop.
• They’re designed to get your attention without performing a full concert.

You’re going to need to record the screen on your iPhone to capture the audio.

You can then extract the audio on your Mac, then save it on your iPhone. ⇠📲
