Why doesn't iMessage in landscape mode show the message thread on iPhone 14 Pro?

"Why doesn't iMessage in landscape mode show the message thread on iPhone 14 Pro?: When I use iMessage in landscape mode it doesn’t show the left column window that should show the messages thread. My other iPhone (Xr) has the message thread on the left side so does my wife’s iPhone 13 Pro Max. Why doesn’t it look the same on my iPhone 14 Pro? I’ve tried everything from resetting all the settings and total reformat of the phone"

Then, you should update, as that would fix this.

I. Update your iPhone:

iOS 26.1 has been released, as of this thread. So, install the update, seeing if all is fixed. Update your iPhone using the iPhone itself, a Mac, or a PC, even. This would allow for all known bug fixes. How to do so....

Two Major Steps: - Back Up, then Update

1. Back Up First: Make a backup of your device using iCloud or your computer

2. Then, Update Using my User Tips:

Other than through the iPhone itself, there two other methods (the second one would not be an option for an iPhone 11:

• Use an iPhone 12 or later, that is using 5G, in order to update over Cellular - User Tip

II. Report this to Apple...

So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: on when this all began, and how you troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary
