Background Sounds volume lowers when interacting with iPhone

I really like the background sounds and I use it to fall asleep and usually turn it on when I read before I go to sleep but when I interact with my phone and what not the sounds always get really quiet and it really annoys me so is there anyway to make them not turn down at all?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 26

Re: Background Sounds volume lowers when interacting with iPhone

This is likely due to a setting on your iPhone which lowers the sound in some circumstances,

(eg: when playing music.)

If you do not want this lowering of background sounds to happen

You could take a look at the setting below, and see if making volume changes will help:

For iOS 26: Play background sounds on iPhone - Apple Support

Eg says:

"Tap Accessibility,

tap Audio & Visual,

tap Background Sounds

  • Use When Media is Playing:

Adjust the volume of the background sound when iPhone is playing music or other media."
