M1 iPad Pro Magic Keyboard issues when not charging

Hey everybody, I am using a M1 IPad Pro 12.9 with the fitting Magic Keyboard for the tablet.

The issue

The keyboard and trackpad have major issues, such as a jumping arrow (to the top left corner) or the disappearing of it. Sometimes the keys work but the trackpad won’t. All in all it is not useable, as this happens every 10s or so.

The funny thing is, when I connect a power cable to the keyboard, it works flawless.

What has been done

I updated the OS to the newest version, I restarted and hard restarted the tablet. Additionally I set it up from scratch. I cleaned the connectors with isopropanol and an eraser, but nothing helped. Additionally I tried to slightly bend the side with the connectors, but same result.

Conclusion

This is an indication for me, that the power connector may be impacted, as a loss of electricity could be the reason for some of the issues.

Does that sound realistic?

What could be done to void this problem? Has anyone had the same issues yet?

Thanks Philipp

You would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to hands-on test and evaluate both your iPad and Magic Keyboard for iPad:

Alternatively, to confirm whether the problem is with the iPad or the Keyboard, you would need to substitute either with a known-good specimen.
