Why is my free Apple TV not working?

I recently bought an iPad and activated my free Apple Music and Arcade there was no free Apple TV in sight…odd. My friend got her iPad a while ago (3 months to be exact) and added me to her free Apple TV as family so when I wanted to activate my own Apple TV however it didn’t show under my “free subscriptions list”. I thought when her 3 months are up maybe mine will finally show up . Fast forward to today when she cancelled her subscription here I am wanting to activate my subscription and it’s telling me to renew my subscription 😭 I didn’t even use my 3months free subscription! Could anyone tell me what went wrong?

The offer for a free trial to any specific Apple service is given once per user in principle, and that includes Family Sharing. To Apple, you already had a trial to this service (through your friend), and therefore you are unfortunately not eligible for another instance for this specific offer at this time.
