Text about attempted Apple Pay setup...is it a scam?

I recently received a text that said, in part, that an "event linked to my Apple ID has been flagged for review" and the action attempted was Apple Pay setup at an Apple store in California. (I live pretty far from California, though I was recently in CA in late September...never went into an Apple Store there.) I feel that this is a scam, but I want to make sure. Anyone else have this message? I do not have Apple Pay set up, btw.
