Recording voice memos with Air Pod Max 2s and iOS 26.1

My headphones are on correctly with the crown on the right side.

Ever since I updated to 26.1 I can no longer record voice memos via Messages.

Siri can record my message via the headphones but not voice memo.

I can hear audio from my headphones fine too.
