ADDING a new CURRENCY in NUMBERS

Hello,

I would like to know how to ADD a different Currency not listed on NUMBERS. Particularly interested on Colombia Peso, ISO Code "COP".

I see at least two different ways. One more "native" way: adding it to the official CURRENCIES list in NUMBERS:

I assume for this, I must edit a file on Numbers to add the currency. That would be the ideal option.

A second option, using =CURRENCYCONVERT Formula, using the currency-code "COP", but it is not working.

Any ideas / suggestions?

Thank you very much.

Apple has different lists of currencies for different regions. Why? I don't know. You have to change the region of the spreadsheet to add other currencies to the list.

  1. File->Advanced->Language & Region
  2. The default will be something like System-English (whatever language your computer is set to)
  3. Change the language to be just the language (English for me)
  4. Change the region to be Colombia
  5. Format at least one cell as Columbian Peso. In the Columbia region it will show it as a $ symbol.
  6. Set the spreadsheet back to System-Your_language if you want it like it was. The $ will change to COP.
  7. As long as you have at least one cell with Columbian Peso, it will be on the list of currencies (all the way at the bottom). If you delete them all, it will no longer be in the list.
