You are going to need to provide much more information.

  • If you give someone your account password, they are able to lock you out by changing the password on you.
  • If you sign into your device with someone else's Apple Account with a password they give you, then they can lock your device.


Of course the purpose is to extort money from you. That is why people are told to never give out their password and don't turn control of your device over to someone else by entering their Apple Account into your device.


What happens much more frequently are phishing emails/messages that claim your account has been compromised and try and scare you. Often times they try and get you to call a number or click a link and provide personal information. If that is done, then you have compromised your account by giving out your personal information to a scammer.
