Runnic Music and Photos from external SSDs
Mac Os 12.6.5 MacBook Air M1 2020 SSD 226 GB. My SSD is almost full. Can I transfer Music and Photos to external SSDs and run those apps from there? If I can, how do I do this?

Running Music and Photos from External Drives:
A. Transferring Manually:
Getting your Music to Copy copy to the External Drive:
B. Accessing Music Hard drive:
As for transferring of the Music Library on macOS 12.5.6, use my User Tip: Moving the Music library to a New Apple ID on Pre-Ventura - Apple Community.
C. Use Cloud Storage:
If you are referring to your builtin SSD, then'd recommend subscribing to an iCloud Subscription --one that is twice the capacity of it. You'd then upload it all. On top of that, you'd stream it off of your devices, and can download them to any other device associated to your Apple Account, including this one. Go here: Apple Music - Apple
D. Use a Network Drive:
Purchasing a network hard drive (with Ethernet) you'd plug this into your router, and proceed from there.
Photos library must be stored on APFS or MacOS Extended (GUID partition scheme, case insensitive) -formatted volume. Finder > Get Info > “Ignore ownership on this volume” should be the default but make sure it is set.
Non-Mac formats like exFAT, NTFS, cloud storage, storage device used for Time Machine backups are NOT supported and produce unexpected behavior or corruption.
Remember to backup also that external drive to another external drive (either with Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner)!
