AirPods will not connect, constant blinking amber light

i just received my AirPods 24 hours ago and I used hen once but after that they won’t connect and I constantly see a blinking amber light and I hold the back button for a while minute and close and open the case and the light won’t turn white so I can connect them, I called apple support but after I told someone my problem they hung up on me with no call back and I’m on the verge of never using apple AirPods again.
