when i set up a new apple id and join my parents fsmily shsring plan what happens with my contactd, hoe csn i retain them?

If you were using your Parents Apple ID and storing your contacts on iCloud, then when you sign out of the iCloud account, it will prompt you to keep or delete iCloud data. This includes contacts, just choose to keep them.
When you sign in with your new Apple ID, it will ask you if wish to merge them with your new iCloud account, answer yes.
Then your contacts should be retained.
