Switching from prepaid annual apple music to family?

I have an annual, prepaid subscription to apple music that won't expire til end of Feb 2020. My kids want us to change to a family plan. How do I preserve the value of the prepaid subscription? Or do I end up double charged or would I have to wait til March 2020?

Formally, you committed to a full year, and that gave you the discount.

Contact the iTunes staff for possibilities given your circumstances. It is their decision to make, but partial refunds have happened in the past. iTunes Store - Contact Us - Official Apple Support
