Changing Apple ID

Not if you change the email that you use for your Apple ID as described in Change your Apple ID - Apple Support

If you create a new AppleID yes, all the data with your other AppleID cannot be transferred to a new one.

If you do as FoxFifth suggests and simple edit the primary email address used with your current AppleID then nothing is lost or changed.
