How to Set-Up a Group Text in Messages?

Also how to Add and Delete a contact from that Group?

I have an iPhone 6 iOS 12.4

Does everyone in the group message need to be an iPhone user? I have a group text message for my fellow volunteers in our organization so that we can communicate quickly as needed. Not everyone has an iPhone, however. Can I still add and remove contacts, as needed, from the group text if they are not all iPhone users?
