Smart Invert Not Working

I am running IOS 13.1 on my XS Max, and smart invert is no longer working

consistently, it will work about 20% of the time, i need to keep reopening and

closing the apps the get them to load in the smart convert color scheme.

For example, when loading Facebook it takes me multiple attempts to get

everything loaded in smart invert, but when it does load correctly, some

pictures and videos will still show with negative colors.

I am visually impaired and this really makes my phone difficult to use, at

this point I'm even thinking of buying an Andriod phone to use while Apple resolves

this issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Hi Nickam60,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that inverted colors aren’t appearing as expected on your iPhone. I’d love to help.

First, Smart Invert Colors reverses the colors of the display except for images, media, and some apps that use dark color styles. On the other hand, Classic Invert Colors reverses the colors of the display. To select the option that works best for you, tap on Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Here’s more information:

Use Display & Text Size preferences on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If the issue persists after changing to Classic Invert, try toggling it off, then on. I also suggest restarting your iPhone, and making sure your third-party apps are updated and compatible with iOS 13.

I am low vision and depend on Smart Invert on an iPad Pro. It is not reliable but was on IOS 12. Sometimes won't go into Invert mode despite being checked. If it does switch it spontaneously switches back at a random future time and is hard to return to the Invert mode. Turning device off and on does not change things. I am using 13.1.3. This is not app dependent. Wondering if this is an IOS bug or something with my iPad.
