Current Adobe Flash Player update

Messages that look like an Adobe Flash Player update are popping up frequently on my MacBook Pro, upgraded to OS X El Capitain version 10.11.6. Last time I clicked on one of these, it turned out to be fake and caused problems. Is the current one real?

The only place to get a legitimate copy of Flash is from adobe.com

You may want to evaluate whether you actually need this at all and if not, completely remove it from your Mac.

Adobe has announced the end of Flash. It will no longer be supported at all as of December 2020.
