Upgrade Memory to iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)

I have 2 x 4GB memory in my iMac at present. I want to increase it. Do I have to add the same size memory cards or can I add 2 more 8Gb cards in the empty slots?

Any help or advise would be welcome.

Upgrading RAM in 2020 iMac I have 32 GB of RAM (2x16 in slots 2 and 4), but I keep getting "Your computer is low on memory" popups. If I want to upgrade to 64 GB is it better to install 2 more 16 GB cards or can I use a 32 GB card, leaving one slot open? And if I use a 32 GB card, what slot should it go in?

How much RAM Memory I have a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with 8GB internal RAM. I now wish to upgrade my RAM, do I need to duplicate what is onboard already, e.g. 2x4 GB which will give me 16GB in total or can I add 2x8 GB making 24GB in total. Thanks, hope I have explained it okay Graham

You can add 8GB cards to give you a total of 24GB.
