We have been getting phone calls re someone else using or Apple ID

Is this a scam? Does Apple call people to report that someone is using their ID? We live I. Prescott, Arizona. When I tried to sign in Apple replies that someone near GLendale, Az are using our id. Does Apple consider our area near Glendale? It’s about a 2 hour drive

Apple does not ever make such calls. Hang up on criminals.
