2018 Mac Mini displays more memory than installed

I have a 2018 Mac mini that was maxed out with memory at the time I bought it. Then, it was 32 GB.

I just happened to check the 'About this Mac', and it nows says I have 44 GB of memory, despite the screenshot [attached] saying both slots contain 16 GB [= 32 GB]! Am I going crazy?

This has to be an error with Catalina 10.15.5, surely?

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Restart in Safe Mode followed by a normal restart and then recheck the About This Mac Memory.
