A Nifty Workaround:

You would use an Ethernet connection for the laptop/desktop (CAT 6). Connecting it into the Modem or Router or Wall Outlet. If no Ethernet port - use this adapter: Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple
