There is no AirPrint app or even setting. If an app supports AirPrint, you simply use that app’s print menu and it should show all available AirPrint printers connected on the same wifi network.

You tap on the icon of a box with the up arrow (the share icon) and “print” is an option there in many apps. If you have an AirPrint printer, that will let you print to it.
Did you read the linked document I posted? If no printer appears, then you don’t have an AirPrint printer.
yes I did read it. And statement is wrong. That did not address my problems, which are ignorance, and that can be frustrating to those who think it is obvious.
With some trial and error. It was too steps. The brother connects to the WIFI via a Ethernet cable, and in so doing works as a WIFI printer for Mac computers. Apparently not IOS devices. I switched to WIFI from the ethernet connection from the brother, which would be more reliable, and it was then on the menu, but I had to extend the list, which I did not know to do. There always should be a "more" at the end of a list if there is more to view. First time with IOS. I think I solved the problems.
Thanks for the clarification. For future reference, any device connecting to any other device via an Ethernet cable is NOT using WiFi. It is using ethernet. So that printer was not acting as a WiFi printer to the Mac, it was acting as a networked (but physically networked) printer for the Mac. Thus it was not seen by any iOS device.
If it is working now, then all is good.
There is no printer offered with any app, no matter what.
