Deleting Photos off of my Mac while keeping them on iCloud

I need to keep my photos on my iCloud and/or to an external drive while deleting it all from my Mac because I need to give the Mac Air back to my company. How do I do this?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

If you want to move your photo library to an external drive, here is how to do it https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201517

If you want to erase your MacBook before giving it back to your company, read this https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201065

Don't forget to backup first, e.g. by using TimeMachine.
