estimating time remaining - Installing OS to new SSD

I'm upgrading my storage in my Mac Book Pro 13" 2015. I bought a new SSD and put it in an external enclosure. I downloaded Mojave and installed it into the new SSD. My computer was forced to restart. The screen has the Apple logo and a status bar and beneath it is "Estimating time remaining...". My status bar looks to be stuck at 95%. It's been stuck for nearly 24 hours. What can I do to fix this issue?

Hey Acerv1234,

You've posted about an issue installing Mojave on your external SSD for your Mac. We're here to assist you with this.

It sounds like it's stuck installing and since it hasn't resolved itself over the last 24 hours, then we'd suggest pressing and holding the power button until the Mac turns off.

If it doesn't power on and boot up after forcing a restart, which file format did you use for that external drive? This covers the supported formats: File system formats available in Disk Utility on Mac

Be sure you are using a support format to install Mojave and if needed erase to format it properly: Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac

We hope this helps!
