Would a 60W MagSafe power adapter with "L" style connector (A1344) be compatible with 13-inch MacBook Pro model MB990LL/A introduced in mid-2009 (which originally came with a 60W MagSafe power adapter with "T" style connector A1184)

Yes they are compatible. Apple changed to the "L" style in later years, but the chargers are the some otherwise. The only difference is sometimes the "L" shaped connector doesn't seat as well or as easily on the Magsafe Port. If the laptop's case is even a bit deformed around the Magsafe Port it may prevent the "L" shaped connector from fully seating since there is very little gap between the arm on the "L" shaped connector which runs parallel to the laptop's case.
