song from library matched but library shows lower bit rate?

I joined apple music and uploaded my library of music. Many are "matched" but use the old bit rate (96, 112, 128, 192) vs the Apple Music "matched" song of 256KB. The only way around seems to be to first delete the song from my library and then download the apple music one. Is that the only solution? Why doesn't Apple use the highest bit rate version of their library or mine?

Figured out a work around at least for the "matched" items.

1) Created a smart playlist with two criteria: less than 256KB and cloud status is "matched"

2) Select all

3) Remove Download by right clicking and hitting that option

3) Re-download by right clicking and hitting download
