They are both going to be pretty equally for the things that you do. The new one is going to look different and will be able to do things faster. It is also going to give you a longer future time for updates as the hardware in it is newer and more capable in the future. You should still get plenty of time with the iPad Air 3. It's really going to come down to price at this point, but the new models always have updated hardware.

There are a lot of differences. There is size, there is processor, there is design, the newer Gen Pencil. If you search online for the differences you will see them side by side and see all the differences.
