iCloud Storage and New Phone

I am about to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 11, same number. Will my current monthly subscription of additional storage (50 gb icloud storage) automatically link to my new phone? What will I have to do?

It will do it automatically. The storage is linked to the Apple ID you use for iCloud, not to a specific device or devices.
