Mac Book Air 2012

I have a mac book air 2012 running OS X 10.9.5. Can the OS still be updated? To what version and where can I source the OS?

You can go as high as 10.15. Catalina. Be aware that 32-but apps don’t run on it, so is you have older versions of MS Office, Photoshop, etc., they won’t work and you should install 10.14 Mojave instead.

Mojave will work well with this MacBook air, this osx is doing wonders on my MacBook air from 2010 and CS4. I feel my MBA has a new lease on life and computing!

Catalina might not read any 32 bit software as these others posted here, so i would install Mojave, time machine that and see if Catalina works in your computing world. if not you can always go back to mojave or even High Sierra.

-enjoy your MacBook!
