External mic not working with Apple Facebook app

Honestly? I closed the app in frustration, figuring it wasn’t going to work because they weren’t showing up. Only my personal page was showing up. The next morning opened it to give it one more shop, and when I clicked the live button, it showed options that included all the pages I admin. Hope it works for you!

I can see my pages, but this is what it says and I don’t know how to change it under the group settings. I want the group to stay private, but I don’t even see anywhere that I can adjust it so that I can stream. Any one know what to do?

I have this same problem and it is driving me nuts!! It really is frustrating! I thought it was a problem with my iPhone 7, and I literally bought a 12 Pro Max recently because I wanted to upgrade but also, hoping to fix the problem and the same thing is happening with this new phone! I use my Sennheiser wireless mics on any other app and it works, but when i do facebook live it doesn't work. And my work depends a lot on facebook lives. THis is infuriating. Apple can you help?

This was working for me until Friday night. I used to start my live video, then plug in the feed coming from my mixer and it would work. Not working currently...I'm on update 14.3 on my iPhone 8plus. Its frustrating. It's probably a Facebook thing but good luck getting help from them i bet. If any one has any ideas I'd appreciate it!

They might be referring to creator studio. Which I never thought of trying that. Maybe I will if need be.

creator studio is a stand alone app. It’s one way you can schedule posts on your phone but it’s buggy as h*ck.

I once scheduled 4 posts one night on the app. They were meant to go out over a weeks time. All of them were posted almost immediately. It was a waste of time. And I know I did it right.

The plug in after only worked until Saturday.

this issue must mess up a lot of people’s work. I was petrified that I couldn’t fix it for my customers yesterday.

I couldn’t even get my Bluetooth headphones to work 😢

This is so frustrating. Should go back to manual labour less reliance on tech.

In my case, I'm not broadcasting through Pages or to a Page. I'm broadcasting through the regular Facebook iPhone app, to a private Facebook group (my private login account, associated with the private group as an admin.)

Still not working. I submitted a help ticket to Facebook on Friday but haven't gotten a reply.

Plugging and unplugging worked for me too until iOS 14.3. Yesterday during our livestream nothing I did could bring the sound in through the microphone port for Facebook Live. Worked fine for other audio apps.

Snap ! I solved a way round this with plugging in after live had started when it first started happening on last update but went to do a live show today after installing new update and now nothing either way. Let down many people tunes in to watch a show which had a paid for audience / Facebook pages.

The problem is that many of us did that work around, and it worked -- until it stopped working. For the past few weeks I cannot get FBLive to accept the external mic at all on my iPhone 11. We are using an old iPhone SE which still works. Lots of folks are banging on Apple and FB to address this. We need a real fix.

same issue and the mic connected after going live stopped to work as well. Even the sound quality of the “original” phone is bad, and there’s nothing to fix about it? Clearly not an apple issue as the mic works fine in other video apps but not with Facebook... don’t know what to do, I have an android phone but I don’t find that to be reliable as the battery may drain or... it’s android after all...?!

How does Stream Labs work on a group page? I can’t get it to work on a page only my profile page. Tried prism too and I can connect to the Group page but then it says it isn’t authorized. Anyone have suggestions?

You’ll need to give the Prism app permission to post to you group. You’ll find it in your facebook group page: settings - apps → search for Prism and add it to apps. You won’t get that error next time you try to broadcast live through Prism

Can you explain what you mean by "running in the background in the record mode"? The IK Multimedia link you provided doesn't mention the Record mode in discussing the work around. I ran a test on FB Live with iRig recorder app open in the background, and the external mic did not pick up. Do I need to start the iRig Recorder function and then start FB Live? Thanks for any further explanation.

Streamlabs seems to be lagging a little with the video and it cut off the last couple of seconds of the livestream. Anyone else experienced this? I have the wifi router a little farther from the phone, maybe I’ll install a wifi repeater.
