US IPhone compatibility in France

Hello,

I currently live in the US, but will probably be moving back to France in a year or two.

I'm thinking of buying an iphone 12 (Sim Free so it's not tied to a carrier), but would like to know if I will be able to use it with a local carrier/Sim when I go back to France.

If you buy the phone directly from Apple and ask for an unlocked phone you can use it anywhere in the world with a local SIM, even France 😏. However, the warranty will not travel with the phone, it will only be honored in the US.
