old to new ipad transfer

We have a first generation iPad that we want to transfer data and apps to a new iPad (256G). It seems to be taking forever to backup the old iPad on the desktop (Win10 iTunes). Anyone with some other way to transfer apps and data< I will welcome any help.

iPad mini, iOS 9

The first generation iPad, released by Apple in 2010, cannot run any iOS version beyond iOS 5.1.1. The current iPadOS version is 14.3.

There is a minuscule chance that any app that used iOS 5.1.1 would still be available today. Even Apple’s Notes app went through a format revision around iOS 9 or so.

This would help with a more current older device, but attempting what you’re trying is likely to be difficult at best.
