old iphone and new iphone have same carrier but new iphone says sim card won’t work

they are the same carrier. both iphones are at&t 44.0. i took my at&t sim card of out my old phone and put it in my new. same carrier. idk why it says that

It means your new iPhone is not from AT&T but from some other carrier which locked to them.

Where did you buy the new iPhone from?
