5G in different countries

I’m buying an iPhone 12 in the USA and will be using in both the U.K. and USA with U.K. sim. Are there any issues associated with this or will it connect to 5G in both countries?

Different countries use different frequencies and versions of 5G.

In the US Verizon uses what is called millimeter wave to provide some 5G coverage.

They are the only ones using this technology, as it has very limited range.

The US version of the iPhone has a specific antenna to connect to this.

iPhones outside of the US don't have this antenna because no one uses it.

The lack of or presence of the millimeter wave antenna does not affect your ability to use 5G outside of the US.
