Problem using NTFS Disk after Big Sur upgrade

Hi All,

I have a problem with a NTFS Disk, that , after BiG Sur upgrade, will be not mounted.

I'm using last version of NTFS Paragon software.

I have try to install an old backup with Catilina SW, than disk works well. After upgrade to Big Sur, problem appear again.

I try also with other program ( such as Tuxera ), but same problem: in not possible to mount the disk.

Apple support told me that is not his problem: someone could help me.

Maybe the NTFS software doesn't work with Big Sur. Have you asked them?

Why do you need the disk to be NTFS? ExFAT should work fine for using it on Windows, also. If you're not using it with Windows, there is no reason for it to be NTFS.

Hi Mbenelli,

ExFAT solves this problem. It allows for files that are larger than 4 GB, and is compatible with both Windows and macOS.

You might have been thinking about FAT32 (MS-DOS FAT), which doesn't allow for files that are larger than 4 GB.

If you don’t need to use it with Windows, format it for use on macOS.

Unless you need to use it with Windows, the 2GB restriction is for FAT32 (MS-DOS). Not much need for that on any OS.

The latest version of Microsoft NTFS for Mac by Paragon is compatible with Big Sur and M1 Macs.

Many time ago i chose NTFS because I need to save file bigger then 2GB.

I don't know ExFAT: it solve this problem?

Paragon site write that is compatible also with M1, not only with M1.

I tried to contact them, but not solution ..
