Can't download and/or play purchased music with my Mac

I have a few albums purchased explicitly on iTunes Store, yet somehow I can't play them. I also canceled my Apple Music subscription for some time I still able to play and download purchased music with my iPhone though.

It seems it is a bug in the desktop Music app. It also displays a reminder to subscribe almost on any of my action. How can I fix it?

I reached out to Apple Support via chat, and it turned out it is just as easy as going to

Account -> Purchased and click to download previously purchased music.
