parsing data in Mac Numbers
How do I parse data in Mac Numbers? For example, I have a column with a first name and last name that I need to parse into two separate columns.

It is certainly an answer, and an efficient and working solution.
Two things I would change:
Where she inserts a column, using right click and a menu choice, I would:
Click on any cell in column A. Press option-right arrow to insert a new column to the right of column A.
When pasting the separated names back into the Numbers table:
Click once on the first cell to receive the pasted names. Press command-V to Paste.
