Have tried the following link which has been suggested to people
https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flash/ts/uninstall_flash_player_osx_10.2.dmg
and most appear to have had success
When I click on it, nothing happens
Any suggestions as to why, and is there another way to rid my mac of this old Adobe software?

If Flash is installed on your Mac, you can delete it from the >System Preferences
Open System Preferences and click open the Flash icon— here you can Delete/Remove, if you do not see it
From the System Preferences>View>Show All

Never download installers or “uninstallers” from unofficial sources, as these tend to be malware.
