Portrait mode was introduced on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus because those iPhones and newer iPhones have the hardware capabilities to take pictures in Portrait mode. iPhones 6 and 6 Plus do not have the hardware capability to use Portrait mode and therefore will not be available.
