Stock App not getting info with cellular data turned on

Iphone 11pro will not update info when on cellular even though toggled on. I have reset network settings and still nothing. Error says chart/newsfeed are unavailable. There may be a problem with the server or network. This issue is the same on two iphone 11 pros.

PROBLEM SOLVED...by me! Beware of Norton 360!

AT&T and Apple didn't know that Norton 360 caused the problem. I turned off their VPN feature and that solved on my iphone but not my husband's iphone. Deleted the Norton 360 app on both phones and now can get every app that allow cellular data. I had asked both AT&T and Apple if Norton could be an issue and everyone said "no." I had to recently buy Norton because Comcast stopped giving it as part of their service. As part of my new subscription, Norton offered their product for 5 of our devices so we added them to our iphones and ipads. That was a mistake and should have never added it to apple devices. I am disgusted with Norton and will find another provider once my subscription ends!

Hello Jory-USA,

We understand the Stock app is not updating on your iPhone 11, and we'd like to help.

Have you tried deleting the app and installing it again? Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch

Are both iPhones running iOS 14.4? If the devices are not on this software you should create a backup on each device using these steps: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Once a backup is completed, Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Have a good one!

Hi Jory-USA,

We appreciate you working with us and sharing these details. We understand you've deleted the app and is now able to load the Stock app. However, the news section isn't loading in the app.

Are you able to load the Stock info on Wi-Fi? If so, does the News section also load? Have you tried closing out the app with the steps provided in Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Do you have an active New+ subscription?

Are you experiencing this same issue on both devices?

Thank you for continuing to work with the Apple Support Community. Take care!

Hello Jory-USA,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you're unable to use any apps with cellular data. Let's make sure there aren't available updates for your carrier settings: Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad

If there aren't available updates or if you've updated the carrier settings and the issue persist, do you experience this at multiple locations or a specific place?

Does the issue continue to happen on both iPhones? If so, you should reach out to your carrier about this.

Best!

It turns out it's not just the stock app, but most of not ALL apps won't connect to the internet via data. The apps are set to allow cellular and still nothing on either phone. (AT&T) is the provider and I've reset the network among other things and still the same issue.

To answer you previous question about the Stock app, the market info and news highlights load when on WIFI (on both phones) but not when on data. FYI, there is no Apple News subscription)
