You can try
—resetting both resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
and resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
—test with a external monitor, this will tell you if GPU or isolated to your screen.
—dual graphic cards launch, verify iod both cards are one
—screenshots are taken directly from the GPU this bypass the a display anomaly, as another test.
—if it is isolated to the display then I suspect it is the projector cable

How to Check if an Option:
Apple Care Plus is for MacBook Pros. In everyday term is the "Protection Plan" for Apple.
A. To Verify the Status Go Here:
* Finding Serial Number: Find the Model and Serial Number of your Mac - Apple Support
B. To Purchase One:
If you ever had time to purchase one, you'd use these sites:
If the black horizontal lines appear on alternating lines on the whole display almost like scan lines, then this is a hardware issue with the built-in Display Assembly. @leroydouglas' suggestion for testing with an external display (enable mirroring to be sure) will confirm the diagnosis.

Based on Personal Experience:
My 2017 MacBook Pro had its screen replaced 11 times. I was informed that the connector between the screen and the LogicBoard kept disconnecting. It was covered under AppleCare, and I didn't pay a penny for the replacements. Having done a replaced screen 11 times, and being calm about it, I was given a free $2,500 upgrade, for no more than the price of an AppleCare. It was deemed a Faulty Device. Point being: A disconnection may be what is going on here.
I think i know now where the problem is. It's a cable that is connected with the display. The Macbook pros (2016) can send there macbooks to apple for free if they have the same problem, all the other have to pay for it fullprice. Even if the all have the same problem, because it's a design misstake. I don't get it. So now i will have to pay +700 € to get this cable changed.
What's AppleCare? I think i don't have it.
Thank you but it doesn't work.
