Help with new Hard Drive

Hello everyone, I took my early 2013 MacBook To a certified repair shop, they told me my ssd was fried but everything else was fine, they showed to me running off a external drive.

So

I bough a new SSD and wanted to make it work myself, I replace the SSD and created a bootable Catalina USB but when I turn my MacBook on, nothing happens

same thing when I had the previous burned SSD

battery light is in but nothing comes up on the screen.

any suggestions?

thank you

What make & model SSD did you install?

What is the highest version of macOS that was ever installed on this laptop?

If you remove the SSD and attempt to power on the laptop do you eventually see a blinking folder with a question mark?

Try an SMC Reset and a PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM reset for at least three chimes).

Can you boot from an external drive?
