It is saying “Verification Required” when I try to use my Apple gift card.
How do you fix this?
Just because you are asked to verify your registered payment method, doesn't mean that it will be used to pay for your purchase. Credit balances are used first. The system is likely attempting to verify that it is actually you using the account by asking for information only you should be able to supply.
