Why can’t I see shared devices in HomeKit

My partner has shared his HomePod with me via Home. I have accepted and done all the privacy and location settings but I can’t see any devices.

Why not?

iPhone 6, iOS 12

Update : deleted me and re-invited.

second invite gave me all sorts of questions to answer that I never got on the first invite.

mall works now!!
