Hey,
Which MacBook do you have? There's a high chance your Mac has only USB-C ports which need dongles. USB-C ports look like this
You will need a dongle to connect your Mac to your TV if your Mac has only USB-C ports.
Make sure your TV has HDMI. Then, you can purchase any of the many dongles available on Amazon and Apple Store.

Once you have the dongle, you will need a HDMI cable. You might already have one. Connect the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your dongle, and connect the dongle to your Mac's USB-C port. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the TV's HDMI port. The HDMI port on your TV might be on the side, or behind it depending on the model.
If you have an older MacBook, then your Mac already has a HDMI port. Plug it into one end of the HDMI cable and plug the other end into your TV.
