My wife’s iPad requirements were minimal, too!

I got her the base model 2020, 10.2 inch screen, iPad 8th gen, WiFi ONLY with 128 GBs of internal data storage for her music, photos and recipes..

The 32 GBs model simply does NOT have enough actual, usuable internal data storage to last over 5-6 years of use and storage of stuff.

The 8th gen iPad was a huge step up from her, then, 8-year old, 2012, 9.7 inch screen iPad 3, with 64 GBs of internal data storage space that was close to being filled, that she still uses on/off.

There was NO support for ANY type of Pencil OR third party smart, Bluetooth stylii, either.

The 8th gen iPad has a 1/2 of an inch larger screen on the diagonal.

It is a noticeable difference in screen size.

A much, MUCH faster internal CPU with 3 GBs of internal RAM with a better rear camera and much louder speakers and Pencil and other third party, smart Bluetooth stylus support.

Get the largest internal storage you can afford as all Apple iOS devices have fixed, non-expandale internal data storage.

None.

A 32 GBs storage iPad starts out with approx 30 GBs.,after initial internal flash drive formatting.

Minus approx. 6.5 GBs for iOS/iPadOS leaves between 23-24 GBs.

Minus 2-4 GBs, for iOS/iPadOS system operational reserve, that MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES, to ensure/insure normal, expected operation of iOS/iPad OS, leaves approx. between 20-21GBs of actual, usable data storage space.

32 GBs data storage devices are, now, more quickly, becoming the “new” low storage 16 GBs internal data storage space devices, today, in 2021.

A 128 GBs storage iPad starts out with approx.119 GBs.,after initial internal flash drive formatting.

Minus approx. 6.5 GBs for iOS/iPadOS leaves between 112-113 GBs.

Minus 2-4 GBs, for iOS/iPadOS system operational reserve, that MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES, to ensure/insure normal, expected operation of iOS/iPad OS, leaves approx. between 109-110 GBs of actual, usable data storage space.

A 128 GBs internal data storage space iPad has enough data storage flexibility and “future proofing” to last for the next 5-7 years, or so, without worrying too much about filling up thr device with data early on.

Best of Luck to You!
